Gwen Vass, managing partner of the firm, is a 1980 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Her 30 years of experience at Williams Overman Pierce has included a concentration in construction and not-for-profit organizations. With a particular focus on audit, she has extensive knowledge of the Single Audit Act that impacts non-profit groups.
Vass is a certified fraud examiner who provides consulting on fraud and forensic accounting matters.
Vass is also one of the firm's major providers of advice and counsel on audit and tax issues impacting the non-profit industry.
Vass has published articles related to the impact of Sarbanes-Oxley on non-profits. She has also presented seminars related to audit and accounting topics.

George Lambert's primary focus at Williams Overman Pierce has been helping clients in the construction industry. George is credentialed as a Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional.
George provides accounting, audit, tax, and general business consulting services to closely held businesses. He is also involved with the firm's litigation support services, and has served as a qualified expert witness in North Carolina Courts. George has been the speaker for several construction organizations and has been instructor of the AICPA's 8 hour Advanced Construction Issues Course.
George Lambert, Jr. is a 1992 graduate of North Carolina State University, and joined the firm's office in 1993, after working for one year with the North Carolina State Auditor's Office.
He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants. George serves as chairman of the audit committee at Hayes Barton Baptist Church.

Rick graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.
Rick has concentrated in auditing and accounting of for-profit and not-for-profit organizations. Rick also reviews corporate, partnership, and individual tax work. Dodson’s experience includes over 30 years of public accounting consisting of 3 years as a Chief Financial Officer in a manufacturing company and over 27 years with local CPA firms.
Rick’s role as a partner involves intimate analysis of financial and operational documentation from clients, managing the audit process, and reviewing financial statements with members of management. Rick supervises and manages staff and is responsible for training and scheduling to ensure the staff meet and exceed client expectations. His dual focus on a close relationship with the staff and constant focus on the client needs is the foundation of ensuring timely delivery for clients’ engagements.

Brian is a partner in our Raleigh office, and helps lead our Not-For-Profits, Healthcare, Employee Benefit and Auto Dealership practices. He is credentialed as a Certified Public Accountant and has over 18 years experience performing audits of Hospitals, Foundations, Religious Organizations, Charitable Organizations, Educational Organizations, Pension Plans, Auto Dealers, and Privately Held Businesses. Brian received his Bachelor of Science in accounting from Long Island University - C.W. Post and graduated Magna Cum Laude.
His primary focus at Williams Overman Pierce is audit, reviews and compilations for closely held businesses and their owners and for Not-For-Profits organizations.

Michael Womble, a partner in the firm’s office, is a 1982 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Pembroke with a bachelor of science degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting. He has five years experience in industry and twenty-four years experience in public accounting. His service concentrations include tax and litigation services, primarily in the areas of business valuation and divorce litigation services.
He holds the professional designations of Accredited in Business Valuation and Certified in Financial Forensics by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Certified Valuation Analyst by the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts and Business Valuator Accredited for Litigation by the Institute of Business Appraisers.

He is active in the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, serving as a boat crewman at Station Ft. Macon and Finance Officer for Flotilla 9-10 based in Raleigh. Womble has previously served on the City Council and as president of the Chamber of Commerce in Dunn, North Carolina.
Jim, a consultant in the firm's Raleigh office, is a 1969 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a bachelor of science degree in accounting. Jims experience includes over 30 years of public accounting consisting of 5 years in the tax department of a large international firm.
His primary focus at Williams Overman Pierce is tax, business, and transaction planning for closely held businesses and their owners. He has accumlated a great deal of experience in helping clients with tax and estate planning.
Jim also provides learned advice and counsel to clients involved in business mergers and acquisitions.

Eddie Strange, a consultant in the firm's Raleigh office, attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and graduated with a bachelor of Science degree in accounting. Eddie's industry concentrations include construction, nonprofit organizations and service companies.
Eddie holds the professional designation of Accredited in Business Valuation by the AICPA and has gained recognition as an expert witness in litigations proceedings. He has authored several articles published in professional and trade journals and is a frequent lecturer.
