Williams Overman Pierce, LLP was founded in 1971 by David Williams. Our firm consists of approximately 45 members, of whom eight are partners. We have offices in Raleigh and Greensboro, with the majority of our client base focused in the Triangle and Triad areas.

Williams Overman Pierce, LLP serves a wide range of clients, the majority of which are closely-held businesses. We provide traditional services such as audit and accounting, financial disclosure and tax preparation and planning. However, consulting has become an integral part of the services we provide to our clients. Our firm also provides litigation support, business valuations, expert testimony, strategic planning, systems and controls, profitability analysis and many other general business consulting services.

Salaries
Careful consideration is made in determining starting salaries. Educational achievements, business experience and other pertinent factors are considered in determining each individual’s salary. Annual adjustments are made, based upon the staff member’s performance and a thorough review by the partners.

Staff Accountants - position currently available in the Raleigh office & Greensboro office for Staff Accountants.  Applicants should have a minimum of 2-4 years of Public Accounting experience (CPA or candidate).

  

  • Carry out day-to-day activities of audit engagements of wide range of industries

  • Activities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Prepare financial statements and footnotes

  • Reconcile bank accounts through review of supporting documentation

  • Reconcile subsidiary accounts to control accounts

  • Prepare schedule for accrued expenses

  • Request, analyze, and report on financial information

  • Discover and communicate accounting and auditing matters to Senior Associates, Managers, and Partners

  • Identify performance improvement opportunities for client

  • Interact with clients to help ensure that the information flow from the client to the audit team is efficient

  • Understand and utilize Williams Overman Pierce Audit Methodology

 


Senior Accountant - position currently available in the Raleigh office for a Senior Accountant.  Applicants should have 2-6 years of public accounting experience (CPA or candidate).  The candidate must be able to perform and direct a broad range of accounting tasks. 


Audit Manager - position currently available in the Raleigh office for an AUDIT MANAGER.  Applicants should have 7+ years of public accounting experience.  CPA required.

 

  • Manage and supervise the execution of external audit engagements of clients in a wide range of industries

  • Maintain steady contact with client throughout the year.

  • Prepare engagement letter and secure complete understanding from the client of the nature, term and estimation of fees.

  • Maintain constant communication stream between client, staff, and partners in order to effectively and efficiently complete engagement

  • Identify new service growth opportunities for assigned clients.

  • Assist with activities that foster the career development of team members.

  • Activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Being familiar with the qualifications and capabilities of audit staff members

  • Assigning staff to engagements according to their capabilities and opportunities that will facilitate learning

  • Supervise audit staff and coach to obtain optimal results

  • Conduct quarterly engagement reviews of audit staff members

  • Understand and utilize Williams Overman Pierce Audit methodology.

 


Tax Manager position currently available in the Raleigh office for a TAX MANAGER.  Applicants should have 7+ years of public accounting experience.  CPA required. 

 

  • Advising clients on proper tax strategies to obtain optimal results in a timely and responsive manner by effectively applying tax knowledge to client circumstances

  • Building client relationships and identifying client needs for additional services

  • Reviewing tax returns of individuals, corporations, and partnerships

  • Engage in tax research on a wide range of issues

  • Follow tax compliance laws and address them with clients as needed

  • Mentoring and guiding staff through effective feedback

  • Staying abreast of latest trends and developments and applying them appropriately

  • Communicating work status with team members
