Background and Primary Focus:
Eddie Strange, managing partner for the firm, attended the University
of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and graduated in 1968 with
a bachelor of science degree in accounting. Serving clients
from the firm’s Raleigh office, his industry concentrations
include construction, nonprofit organizations and service companies.
Strange holds the professional designation of Accredited in
Business Valuation by the AICPA and has gained recognition as
an expert witness in litigation proceedings. He has authored
several articles published in professional and trade journals
and is a frequent lecturer.

Background and Primary Focus:
James B. Pierce, a partner in the firm’s Raleigh office,
is a 1969 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel
Hill with a bachelor of science degree in accounting.
His primary focus at Williams Overman Pierce & Company,
LLP is business and transaction planning. He has accumulated
a great deal of experience in helping clients with tax and estate
planning.
Pierce also provides expert advice and counsel to clients involved
in business mergers and acquisitions.
Professional and Civic Accomplishments:
Pierce is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public
Accountants and the North Carolina Association of Certified
Public Accountants.
He serves as treasurer and is on the Board of Directors of the
American Lung Association of North Carolina.
He is a member of the Wake County Estate Planning Council and
the Crabtree Rotary Club.

Background and Primary Focus:
Gwen Vass, a partner in the firm’s Raleigh office, is
a 1980 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel
Hill with a bachelor of science degree in accounting.
Her experience at Williams Overman Pierce has included a concentration
in construction and non-profit organizations. With a particular
focus on audit, she has extensive knowledge of the Single Audit
Act that impacts non-profit groups.
Vass is also one of the firm’s major providers of advice
and counsel on audit and tax issues impacting the construction
industry.
Professional and Civic Accomplishments:
Vass is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public
Accountants, the North Carolina Association of Certified Public
Accountants and the National Association of Women in Construction.
She is also on the Nonprofit Advisors Group, is a member of
Raleigh Kiwanis Club and a volunteer for Safe Child.
Vass is a frequent speaker and has published articles related
to the impact of Sarbanes-Oxley on non-profit organizations.
She has also presented seminars on numerous audit and accounting
topics.

Background and Primary Focus:
George Lambert, Jr. is a 1992 graduate of North Carolina State
University with a bachelor of science degree in accounting,
and joined the firm’s Raleigh office in 1993, after working
for one year with the North Carolina State Auditor’s Office.
Lambert’s primary focus has been helping clients in the
construction industry. He is credentialed as a Certified Construction
Financial Professional.
Lambert provides accounting, audit and general business consulting
services to closely held businesses.
He is also very involved with the firm’s business valuation
and litigation support services and has testified as an expert
witness.

He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public
Accountants and the North Carolina Association of Certified
Public Accountants.
Lambert is also a member of the Construction Financial Management

Michael Womble, a partner in the firm’s Raleigh office,
is a 1982 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Pembroke
with a bachelor of science degree in accounting. He has five
years experience in industry and seventeen years experience
in public accounting. His service concentrations include tax
and litigation services, primarily in the areas of business
valuation and divorce litigation services. His industry concentrations
include medical, construction and real estate.
Professional and Civic Accomplishments:
He holds the professional designations of Accredited in Business
Valuation by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants,
Certified Valuation Analyst by the National Association of Certified
Valuation Analysts and Business Valuator Accredited for Litigation
by the Institute of Business Appraisers.
Womble is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public
Accountants, North Carolina Association of Certified Public
Accountants, National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts
and the Institute of Business Appraisers.
Womble serves on the Litigation Services Committee of the NCACPA,
and is a frequent speaker to attorneys on financial, tax, and
business valuation topics. In addition to his designation as a Certified Public Accountant, he holds the professional designations of Accredited in Business Valuation by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants; Certified Valuation Analyst by the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts; and Business Valuator Accredited in Litigation by the Institute of Business Appraisers.
He is the current treasurer for the North Carolina chapter of
the Coastal Conservation Association, as well as the treasurer
for Think First Foundation of Wake County. Womble has previously
served on the City Council and served as president of the Chamber
of Commerce for his hometown in Dunn, North Carolina. He is active in the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary as Finance Officer of Flotilla 9-10, Raleigh, NC and serves as a boat crewman at the U.S. Coast Guard Station located at Fort Macon, NC

Daniel Duncan, a partner in the Greensboro office, is a graduate
of North Carolina State University with a bachelor of science
degree in accounting. Duncan’s experience includes 15
years in public accounting, serving a variety of clients.
His industry concentrations include closely- held businesses,
retail, service, manufacturing, construction, real estate, non-profits
and HUD-assisted entities, both for-profit and not-for-profit.
His service concentrations include a focus on accounting, auditing

Chuck Long, a partner in the Greensboro office, is a 1986 graduate
of High Point College with a bachelor of science degree in accounting.
He received a master of taxation from Georgia State University
in 1992.
Long concentrates in tax planning, retirement plan administration
and consulting and estate planning. He has been working with
clients in public accounting for more than 17 years.
