Eddie Strange attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and graduated in 1968 with a bachelor of science degree in accounting. Serving clients from the firm’s Raleigh office, his industry concentrations include construction, nonprofit organizations and service companies.
Strange holds the professional designation of Accredited in Business Valuation by the AICPA and has gained recognition as an expert witness in litigation proceedings. He has authored several articles published in professional and trade journals and is a frequent lecturer.

James B. Pierce, a partner in the firm’s Raleigh office,
is a 1969 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel
Hill with a bachelor of science degree in accounting.
His primary focus at Williams Overman Pierce,
LLP is business and transaction planning. He has accumulated
a great deal of experience in helping clients with tax and estate
planning.
Pierce also provides expert advice and counsel to clients involved
in business mergers and acquisitions.

Gwen Vass, a partner in the firm’s Raleigh office, is
a 1980 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel
Hill with a bachelor of science degree in accounting.
Her 28 years of experience at Williams Overman Pierce has included a concentration
in construction and non-profit organizations. With a particular
focus on audit, she has extensive knowledge of the Single Audit
Act that impacts non-profit groups.
Vass is a certified fraud examiner who provides consulting on fraud and forensic accounting matters.
Vass is also one of the firm's major providers of advice and counsel on audit and tax issues impacting the construction industry.

George Lambert, Jr. is a 1992 graduate of North Carolina State
University with a bachelor of science degree in accounting,
and joined the firm’s Raleigh office in 1993, after working
for one year with the North Carolina State Auditor’s Office.
Lambert’s primary focus has been helping clients in the
construction industry. He is credentialed as a Certified Construction
Financial Professional.
Lambert provides accounting, audit and general business consulting
services to closely held businesses.
He is also very involved with the firm’s business valuation
and litigation support services and has testified as an expert
witness.

Accountants and the North Carolina Association of Certified
Public Accountants.

Michael Womble, a partner in the firm’s Raleigh office,
is a 1982 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Pembroke
with a bachelor of science degree in business administration. He has five
years experience in industry and twenty one years experience
in public accounting. His service concentrations are tax, business valuation and litigation services, including transaction planning, mergers and acquisitions, buyer and seller due diligence, business damages, ESOP, consulting, and divorce litigation services.

He holds the professional designations of Accredited in Business
Valuation by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants,
Certified Valuation Analyst by the National Association of Certified
Valuation Analysts, and Business Valuator Accredited for Litigation

Thomas H. Norton, a partner in the firm’s Raleigh office, is a 1985 graduate of East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. Norton’s experience includes over 20 years of public accounting consisting of 5 years in the tax department of a large international firm and over 15 years with local CPA firms.
His primary focus at Williams Overman Pierce & Company is tax, business, and transaction
planning for closely held businesses and their owners.
Norton also provides financial and tax counsel to business start-ups, high tech companies, and individuals including foreign individuals with U.S. source income.
